Debbie has a great passion for all of her clients, particularly, children and families with special needs. As a mother of a child with what she likes to call “super-powers,” she has a unique understanding of life’s daily frustrations and challenges when parenting a child with differences. She will tell you, “It is hard for others to understand the struggles of having a child with a special need or chronic illness without living it daily”. Debbie understands that sometimes it feels as though no one “gets it” which can bring about intense loneliness. She offers a safe and nurturing space to talk about what is happening for your family and find some relief.
Having a child with a special need is challenging, frustrating, lonely, wonderful! Perhaps you are lucky and have a community of friends and family who understand what it can be like on any given day. Perhaps there is no one to turn to on a day when multiple meltdowns occur? Or no one who shares in the joy with each small success? No friend who holds you up on a day when each minute has been filled with frustration? Or those who just can’t seem to understand why today is another day you are having SUCH a hard time with your son or daughter. By now you understand, there is no easy fix. I want you to know, there is a place where you won’t feel all by yourself.
If you are looking for someone to help your child who is struggling or if you need someone who understands what your days can be like, I too, have been there. Together, let’s see how we can find more days of success for your entire family.
