Ask Debbie “what kind of work she does?”
She will usually answer, “I work with people to heal their hearts”.
She believes that the challenges we face in life make us stronger. And while hers are no exception, they do provide a unique understanding and perspective of when working with each of her clients. Clients who might have anxiety or depression knocking at their door. Those working to recover from trauma. Others who are struggling with a child who has a special need. Some are coping with an aging parent. Others might struggle with addiction themselves or with a family member? She wants to know that there is support, relief, and also, hope.
Debbie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working both in private practice and in Residential Treatment. She seamlessly blends traditional psychotherapy with Art Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Each of these additional modalities provides another layer to her safe and gentle approach working through her clients most difficult of struggles.
Debbie works creatively and compassionately with her clients whose lives contain themes of pain, loss, trauma, and heartache. She understands that the stories of her client’s lives have brought them to where they stand today. It is her hope that through working collaboratively with individuals, couples, families, and groups, new paths can be explored that will lead to healing and the creation of new, more hopeful narratives.
